A real "must" for all the true
folk music lovers: an audio bite (in MP3 format - high quality) of a
wonderful typycal "tammurriata" from our town. This file is straightly taken'
from the first check mixing of the forthcoming audio CD of LA
BASULATA Folk Group. (Time: 42 sec. - File size (zipped):
780 Kb)
Another preview straightly taken'
from the check mixing of the Group first album: a short audio bite
(in MP3 format - high quality) of the funny song "Iu zampugnaru",
imposingly sung by the powerful voice of Gianni Perrotta. (Time: 56 sec. - File size (zipped):
846 Kb)
This is one of the many original
songs written from the Group musicians and it is one of its most
recent recordings: basically it is a happy "tarantella" dance, a
classic dance typical in Campania Region, but written and played
with the heart and the thoughts beloving the ancient Medieval Borgo
of our town, Baia e Latina... (Time: 37 sec. - File size (zipped):
582 Kb)
Another typical our town joyful
instrumental song, that's been curiously transmitted by the old
musicians, simply...orally for over 70 years!! It is a thoughless "tarantella"
surely inspired by the unpredictable (..but, obviously,
"healthy"..) effects on the human feelings due to the rich and
flavoured great local wine!! (Time length: 33 sec. - File size (zipped): 526
Kb)
Here is a song that says really a
lot about the "crossing" influences that Baia e Latina has got time
after time, as it is sited in the middle of 3 various Regions
borders (Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise). This is a happy song where a
lover tells his girlfriend that everithing's goin' to be ready for
their forthcoming wedding...
This is an old recording too, made up with just lucky means: it came
out a simple and spontaneous singing made up during a simple party
evening beetween friends..
(Time length: 28 sec. - File size (zipped): 441 Kb)
An instrumental song that doesn't
need to be introduced at all. It's a twisting tarantella, quite
different from the original version, featuring the typycal LA
BASULATA Folk Group special kick... (Time length: 36 sec. - File size (zipped): 569 Kb
This song is taken' straight from
the first Compact Disc release of LA BASULATA Folk Group. Just a
short "bite" of the omonymous title-track that, when performed live,
features a very difficult dance subdivided in three different acts. (Time length: 35 sec. - File size (zipped): 409 Kb)
"Levet'a llocu c'aggia passà"
is surely one of the most exciting songs of the whole repertory of
LA BASULATA Folk Group. The short audio file we can listen here is
taken' straightly from the Group's first Compact Disc and it testify
the amazing skillness of our mandolin player, Mr. Giuseppe Biondillo,
that recovered this authentic music gem, from his youth memories...
(Time length: 44 sec. - File size (zipped): 515 Kb)

The official promoclip of LA
BASULATA Folk Group presented in low and/or high quality format, featuring a
twisting and exciting mix of various clips shooted during live
concerts and/or
behind the scenes... (Videoclip length: 3 min. 27 sec.
Approx. file size (zipped):
LOW RESOLUTION 3,50 Mb -
HIGH RESOLUTION: 35 Mb)
Clip taken' from a video filmed in
the FIUGGI TERME (FR) Municipal Theatre, where the Folk Group "LA BASULATA"
had a show during the Folk Festival "I colori dell'Italia"
("The colours of Italy"), at the end of the Annual Assembly of the F.A.F.IT.
Association
(Federation of the Italian Folk Association). This is a song very
happy and fascinating, that's usually singed in our areas, but first
of all it gives the chance to see a wonderful and impressive view of
the full Group lined on the chorus line, while slowly revealing in
all its majestic elegance way by way the stage curtain gets opened... (Videoclip length: 38 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 1,39 Mb)
This clip has been "accidentally"
shoot by Mr. Enzo Cunti in the Group rehearsale room. We said "accidentally"
because in fact the videocamera has been left unintentionally turned
on during the Group dance rehearsales that, everybody knows, for us
are absolutely TOP SECRET...! This also means that this is a rare
and maybe unique chance to get a close look "behind the scenes" of
the hard work made up by the Group to bring on stage a nice show.
Anyway, only by chance, this video also testify the FIRST dance test
ever made for the song "Tarantella del Baglio"... ENJOY!! (Videoclip length: 1 min. 21 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped):
2,06 Mb)
This is a video-clip in which it
is possible to appreciate some of the very elegant dance steps
typical of this wonderful tarantella titled "'MBRIACHETE
TU". The great refrain of the song finds out its perfect end in
the nice final choreography. This is a song and a dance that, since
ever, represents an excellent opening of all our live shows... (Videoclip length: 38 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 1,32 Mb)
This is an old brief "clip",
filmed while just SOME of the actual members of the Folk Group "LA
BASULATA" participated as characters to the biannual representation
of the local
PRESEPE VIVENTE (Living Holy Nativity), that's
considered one of the best made and absolutely wonderful
folkloristic-religious shows of Italy. In this kind of
representation, the "live" performance of the Folk Group (..just few
members..), that plays without wearing their typical scene costume, represents
since ever an unforgettable and emotioning "date" for all the
esteemers of the genre, even if, due to the circumstances,
aren't played songs taken' from the repertory of the Group, but just
some Christmas typical songs such like the one presented in this
video-clip. (Videoclip length: 38 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 1,39 Mb)
This is a short video-clip in
which it's easy to appreciate the first dancing steps of this
typical "tarantella" song titled "Zì Nicò". The song has been
re-arranged and ameliorated from the original one, by the Group
musicians, to better work as a perfect soundtrack for this original
choreography, where a group of lovely young girls, happily kids
around in twisting by their beauty a confused and excited man (so
called "Zì Nicò") that doesn't know which one to choose to be his
girlfriend...
(Videoclip length: 17 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 622 Kb)
That's our most evident hommage
dedicated to our Region (Campania) and to its world famous city:
Naples. We made of this wonderful song (originally singed by the
Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare) a specific musical arrangement in
the typical "LA BASULATA"
style. At every show, during this song, we also have a special guest coming
up on
the stage: it's our Regional mask, PULCINELLA...
(Videoclip length: 42 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 1,53 Mb)
...well, what to say 'bout this
video? Simply that this song is not really part of our "classic"
repertoire, but to tell the truth, everitime it's possible, we
really enjoy so much to improvise what to sing. This is probably due
to the huge amount of songs we "unofficially" know and that
sometimes we're used to sing during our traditional serenades that
we still actually play around in our hometown...!!). Well, in this
case, the comitee of this Feast, before our official show on stage,
asked us to "warm up" a bit the crowd while walking in the town
streets: they also gave us a total freedom and we simply did what
they asked us!! Which was the results? Well, take a look at this and
judge by yourselves...
(Videoclip length: 27 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 892 Kb)
A very twisting choreography, made
up by 6 couples of dancers, to realize a dance for this song typical
of our hometown; an instrumental song as happy as nothing else. In
this clip you'll see just the last steps of the dance and the final
salute to the crowd that, as usual, demonstrate to like it by
answering with an incredible enthusiasm...
(Videoclip length: 59 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 2 Mb)
This is one of
the longest videoclips here presented, but it is a valuable 2,75 Mb
file made up of pure joy, featuring an irresistible song,
wonderfully sung by our gorgeous Gianni PERROTTA. This song talks
about the handsome "Rusella", a beautiful girl from the Matese
Mountains, perfectly able to let all the men that meets her to fall
in love...! This videoclip is absolutely to see and hear with
passion and attention, even if the best is to have the chance to feel
the beauty of this song during a live show...
(Videoclip length: 77 sec. - Approx. file size (zipped): 2,75 Mb)
Clip taken' during the concert
made for the official introduction of the Folk Group "LA BASULATA"
to the local, provincial and regional Authorities. The song here
presented ("Tarantella
del Baglio"), it's an original song written from the Group
musicians and it has been the last one that closed the concert in a
general indescribable state of exultation and happiness between
music, dances and euphoria that actually in town still everybody
remember... (Videoclip length: 18 sec. - File size (zipped): 667 Kb)
This clip has been recorded during
the show we had for the 2° International Folk Festival of the Valle d'Aosta,
made up in Aosta city, close to the local Roman Amphitheatre. In
this brief clip you'll see only the final refrain of the famous
neapolitan song "Tammurriata Nera", followed by the
final salute we gave to the Aosta crowd, that answered with an
incredible warmth, demonstrating us that they appreciated our show
by over 45 seconds of applause... (Videoclip length: 64 sec. - File size (zipped): 1,91 Mb)
